Memorial page of Zeke

Zeke lived a short life. We didn’t bring him into our family until he was well into his third year of life. From all appearances, he had never felt true love. Kelly and I began our relationship with Zeke with a goal to show him a love and a life he deserved. We poured our life and souls into him. We loved him so much that sometimes it could annoy him. He couldn’t keep us away, though. He was a good dog. He got into the trash sometimes, he would steal our food off of the table if we weren’t careful, and sometimes he ate our comforters. But we loved him for who he was, flaws and all. He was mischievous, but he was our little mischief. He was a good boy most of the time. He would greet his mom at the door, fetch ball, hype us up, comfort us when we were down, and make us laugh in all the right ways. We gave Zeke a good life. More importantly: he gave us a better life. He lived a short life, which is unfortunate. But he lived a better life than most, and I feel pride and joy in knowing that we could provide that to him. Zeke wasn’t with us our whole lives, but he made our lives whole. And for that, we love him, we thank him, and we hope he is playing with ball, eating all the good foods, and taking all the best naps in paradise. We love you, Zeke! You were the best boy we could have ever asked for!
